2.0:SRB2 Riders/Character WAD

From SRB2 Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Character WADs for SRB2 Riders are set up differently than regular character WADs. The frames are organized differently, with additional frames added, and there are several new options in the S_SKIN lump.

S_SKIN

  • faceicon: The lump name of the automap icon used for the character. The automap icon is used to display the character's position on the map in the automap, provided that there is an automap set for the map. As with face and facename, while the lump name value is not case-sensitive, it is recommended to type the lump name in all capitals to match the lump name. XWE automatically gives this offsets, but this lump should not have any.
  • ability: Same as in regular SRB2, except with 2 extra abilities:
    • 8 – Cream's Fly/Swim: A modified Fly/Swim ability where the flying animation use 8 frames instead of 4 – the running frames followed by the first 4 special ability frames. It also turns on the console command TOGGLECHEESE so Cheese is always by Cream's side.
    • 9 – Eggman's Fly ability: The character flies instead of jumping and can spindash in mid-air.
  • exgear: Sets the Extreme Gear type of the character for Sonic Riders mode:
    • 0 – Speed type: Can ride rails.
    • 1 – Fly type: Can fly through hoops.
    • 2 – Power type: Can bust through bustable blocks.
  • runframe: Sets which frames the character uses for running in regular Race mode:
    • 0: Uses the default running frames.
    • 1: Uses the running frames plus all 6 special ability frames (used by Shadow).
    • 2: Uses the running frames plus the first 4 special ability frames (used by Cream).
  • thokcolor: Determines when prefthokcolor is used for the character's thok item:
    • 0: The thok item is always the same as the character's current skin color; prefthokcolor is never used.
    • 1: The thok item uses prefthokcolor only when the character is using their prefcolor (used by Shadow).
    • 2: The thok item always uses prefthokcolor (used by Eggman)
  • prefthokcolor: Works similarly to prefcolor (keeping in mind that the colors have been moved around), except it sets the thok item's color instead.
