Infinity Ring

Thing type 303, Infinity Ring, is a Match weapon that can be fired continuously without using up the player's rings, but instead only the Infinity Ring ammo itself. 80 shots are automatically granted upon pickup. Originally a regular weapon ring in the Final Demo releases, it was removed in v2.0 when the new weapon system was introduced. It returned in v2.1 as a power-up for the red ring, separate from the other weapon rings.

Unlike other weapons, the Infinity Ring does not need a corresponding weapon panel to be collected before it can be used; when collected, it automatically replaces the standard red ring weapon, changing back to the red ring weapon only after the Infinity Ring ammo has been depleted entirely. 80 shots of ammo are granted upon pickup. This weapon will reach its maximum capacity at 800 shots.

Giving an Infinity Ring the Ambush flag will make it float 24 fracunits above the ground. All Infinity Rings that are not already floating above the ground due to Z offsets should have this flag because items that do not float are difficult to collect and look as if they were stuck in the floor. The flag stacks on top of the Thing's regular height, allowing Infinity Rings to be a total of 4119 fracunits above the ground at maximum.
