MAPBF, Fume Shaft Zone Act 1, is the first act of the sixth zone in Tortured Planet. It takes place in an abandoned mine full of toxic chemicals, and the player will have to dodge pits of damaging slime and deadly acid, as well as negotiating disused ore car tracks and mining apparatuses. Eggman's technology, such as fans and toxic waste pipes, will also hinder the player.

Walkthrough

Points of interest

Special Stage Token

At the very start of the level, you will need to find the hollow barrel that contains a spring, and use it to get to the upper ledge. There is an Elemental Shield concealed in a tunnel leading off this ledge. You will need to hold on to this shield while you proceed through the level. At the first path split, turn left into the room full of purple slime. There is a submerged tunnel underneath the slime on the far side of the room, in which you will find the token.

Emblem locations

Sonic

This is one of the trickier emblems in Tortured Planet. At the beginning of the level, one of the slime barrels is hollow and contains a spring which propels you onto an upper ledge. With a bit of exploration up there, you can find an Elemental Shield. That's the easy part. The challenge here is to keep that shield for the greater part of the level, as you need it to get the emblem. Once you reach the slime-filled room with the fans that guide you between spikeballs, navigate this room as usual, but this time, instead of using the wood platforms to reach the door to the next room, you should look for a hole in the wall with the slime waterfall. Once you locate this, jump through it (if you don't have the Elemental Shield, the slime will damage you and knock you back into a Death Pit.). You will now find yourself in a room full of deadly acid and stone platforms. Hop across the platforms to reach the emblem, which is on a tiny ledge on the far side of the room. Congratulate yourself on a job well done.

Tails

At the first path split just after the end of the mine track at the beginning of the level, take the right path. Go to the end of this room, just before you enter the metal tunnel, then turn around and fly up towards the ridges in the ceiling. One of them has a small hole in its side, which leads to a tiny upward shaft containing the emblem.

Knuckles

This emblem is high up on the side of one of the big rock formations in the second open cavern section.
