MAPB9, Snowcap Nimbus Zone Act 1, is the first act of the fourth zone in Tortured Planet. It takes place in the sky around a chain of mountains, and gameplay alternates between cloud hopping and navigating frozen tunnels. There is also a network of oil pumps in this stage, and sludgy pits of crude that you can sink into like quicksand.

Walkthrough

Points of interest

Special Stage Token

After the rope hang that dangles over a pit of oil, jump down the hole in the side of the wall. You will see the token wedged in a narrow crack. At first glance, it seems impossible to collect, but if you walk past it, turn right, and spin into the wall, it will shatter, allowing you to grab the token.

Emblem locations

Sonic

In the reflective ice room, take the left path. When you get to the room with the purple crystalline walls, jump as far as the third ice platform, then turn around. You will notice that the nearest of the white rock columns has a ledge leading behind and into it. Jump onto this ledge, and you will find the emblem inside the column.

Tails

Just after the mirror room with the double Star Posts, go outside, turn around, and fly upwards. There is a high ledge on the side of the main wall. When you get up onto this ledge, you can find both an extra life buried in the snow, and a tiny cave in the side of the wall containing the emblem.

Knuckles

At the beginning, take the left path. When you get to the room with the bed of spikes, turn left and jump onto the platform in the corner with the red spring, which will propel you up onto a groove in the wall (lots of walls in this room have the Not Climbable flag checked, so you can't just climb up there.) Hug the wall and walk along the narrow ledge, and you'll reach a path that leads into a room with a climbing "maze". Get to the top, and you'll reach a small tunnel that leads into a room containing both the emblem and an Elemental Shield.
