Level Header Template

I made one of those, too. Look at Template:Level Header. –SonicMaster 02:52, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

EDIT: I do not have the willpower to actually make a table for Thing types. Thanks so much. —Preceding unsigned comment added by SonicMaster (talkcontribs)

Heh. I had actually made a quick script to make the tables for me; all I needed to do was supply the raw THINGS lumps, and it made a perfect table, in wiki format and all, almost instantly. Quite nice for something I only spent an hour or so on... I doubt if AGZ2 would have ever gotten a Things table without it. 犬夜叉(Inuyasha) 03:19, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

I CARRY THE SUPERVIRUS

Hey man! Why did you remove I CARRY THE SUPERVIRUS?! I had it up there for SRB2JTE.exe! You leave my edits alone! I CARRY THE SUPERVIRUS is a command to kill the server who ran a netgame with the supervirus! - SuperChris —Preceding unsigned comment added by Superchris (talkcontribs)

I can see why you think it's a command... but honestly, it isn't, in my opinion at least. It's not listed in HELP, and it's not really a command like any other command you see. The EXE has a special case to check to see if you've typed "I CARRY THE SUPERVIRUS" into it. If it didn't, it would just be looking for the nonexistant command I, and passing the parameters CARRY THE SUPERVIRUS to it. (As you can see if you misspell it.) 犬夜叉(Inuyasha) 04:23, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Just for future reference, saying "Leave my edits alone" on a Wiki is fairly dumb. That's the whole point of a Wiki, for it to be easily edited by anyone. Meaning anyone's changes can get edited. ~DarkWarrior Talk • Contribs 11:58, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

For my own future reference...

[21:35] <+DarkWarrior> [22:11:41] <+MattW_CFI> i demand page for XSRB2 kthxbye~... hehe < You could do it...
[21:35] <+MattW_CFI> I was more concerned with "Is it notable enough?"
[21:36] <+MattW_CFI> I could do it myself, but I wasn't sure about that
[21:45] <+DarkWarrior> It's fine.
[21:45] <+DarkWarrior> @ Wiki article.

XRPG

How exactly would that work? Would Xnuyasha output ASCII Art of the map whenever something moves? Alsosuwari. ~Kaysakado  •  Talk  •  21:35, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

General information regarding linedefs

I happened to notice that you have deleted my modifications to linedef executor pages which include general information regarding all linedefs. On one hand, I do understand what you are getting at...that it clutters the page and stuff like that. However, there was a specific reason I did that: I feel that, if all relevant information is displayed on a linedef page, even information pertaining to more linedefs than just that specific type, it'll be much easier for people to find what they're looking for, because it seems a lot of n00bs on the message board don't have any patience in searching, and complain that they can't find the information on the wiki if they didn't find it on the first page. So why not make it more likely that the information is on the first page they come to?

You have the final say in this matter as an SRB2 wiki administrator, so I'll accept whatever you say. I would just advise you to think about it first, though. Fawfulfan 12:45, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

More on the general information debate

I would really appreciate it if you did not keep doing unilateral rollbacks on my edits to linedef executors, Inuyasha. The decision to put extra general info regarding all linedefs in each page has been agreed upon by myself and SpiritCrusher. Also, as I have been recently promoted to a Sysop, I believe that I have some authority in this matter now.

The reason I have added in excess information, as I have said before, is because new level designers are unlikely to know where to even begin, so if they look up how to make a linedef executor, they will be more likely to understand if they see everything about how to generally make one. It doesn't add too much clutter to the page, and helps it be more informative.

At the very least, I demand an in-depth explanation from you as to why it is a bad idea to include general information regarding all linedefs on each page. Fawfulfan 12:31, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

One word: Redundancy. Redundancy is something we try to _avoid_ on this wiki. Just ask Rob and Spazzo, the two people I discussed this with prior to doing what I did. Both of them agreed that listing general information on every page is extremely redundant and should _not_ be done.
If someone wants to look up general info on Linedef Executors, I'm 99% sure the first place they'll look is Linedef executor, not Linedef type 424 or something. Note how I put the info related to Upper Unpegged linedefs that you added on that specific page. This is where it should be -- a general page for all Linedef Executors, not every single specific one. Note how I also took the time to fix up the wikilinks on each Linedef Executor page to point to Linedef Executor, just to help. 犬夜叉(Inuyasha) 15:43, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
"The decision to put extra general info regarding all linedefs in each page has been agreed upon by myself and SpiritCrusher." I just wanted to note that this is not true. After all, I agree with Inuyasha on this matter, and I probably should've made that more clear. --SpiritCrusher 17:36, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
Okay, I seem to have misunderstood the position here. I apologize for any confusion in this matter.
After hearing your arguments on the SRB2 message board, I understand your point. I'm still not quite convinced in this position, but I will accept your decision with no more complaints. Fawfulfan 19:39, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

New Sidebar

I'm currently trying to bring the Wiki sidebar up to date, since it's missing a lot of stuff. Could you please take a look at my test layout and comment on it? Thanks in advance, SpiritCrusherTalkContribs 10:49, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

hi there

<@Inuyasha> on that note, why do I never get any chat on my talk page anymore :
<@Inuyasha> :<
<@Inuyasha> they always go to SpiritCrusher
<MrMystery> but they don't give SpiritCrusher these
* MrMystery throws Inuyasha a treat
<RedEnchilada> what, you want some chat?

--RedEchidna 01:35, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

But that's not enough chat, I want more :< 犬夜叉(Inuyasha) 01:37, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
hi now stop whining --SpiritCrusherTalkContribs 04:26, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

It's because you don't flood Recent Changes like some madman every day. Might even be better for your mental health in the long run, and you don't have to deal with people like KnuxD. Then again, they also went to SonicMaster's talk page... Notice how I didn't prefix this post with a colon because I don't know how it's supposed to work. Are we supposed to indent every second post or just replies to other posts? --SpiritCrusherTalkContribs 04:42, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
