User:Rob/Userpages: Free use of SRB2 Wiki
Userpages are a place where a user can put in little bits of information about themselves. Userpages are granted to all registered users, and the content of the userpages are generally left up to the user as to what does or does not appear on it. That does not mean, however, that anything can be put in a userpage.
Who May Edit Userpages
Userpages are personal pages of users, and only the owner of the userpage should edit it, unless permission is given in its talk page. The SRB2 Wiki staff is, to some degree, bound to this rule. They may not edit the page, unless unacceptable content is found. Anonymous userpages, or userpages for an IP address of someone not registered, are not allowed. Users not logged in are also not allowed to edit content on another user's page.
Unacceptable Content
Certain types of content are not allowed on userpages.
- Users may not put inflammatory content on their userpages.
- Users may not write about things such as sexuality, their sexual preference, their sexual history, etc. These things are just unneeded. Likewise, pornographic material is not allowed.
- Users may not link to shock sites, or advertise another website under a false pretense.
- Users may not link to highly suggestive material. If a Maintainer believes that an image is too suggestive, an article on it will be placed in the talk page for both the user and other Maintainers to discuss.
- Users may not put another user's creation on their page.
Consequences of Abuse
If any of these are found on a userpage, the user's page will be deleted, and access to it will be either temporarily suspended, or permanently disabled, case pending, at a Maintainer's discretion.
The suspension will include a notice on the userpage that it was abused, and will have a protection set on it, preventing anyone but SRB2 Wiki staff from editing it.
Vandalized Pages
In the event that another user puts these things on a userpage, and it was disabled without checking who added it, the owner may contact the person who put the notice up. If the staff member refuses to take it down, the user may bring it up in the user talk page, and notify other staff members, who will then decide on what action to take.
