Easter eggs are a date-activated secret in all Final Demo-era releases of SRB2. If you play the game during April, collectible easter eggs will appear in the Single Player levels. There are 12 eggs in total, with two eggs in each non-boss act. Collecting all 12 eggs unlocks the "Easter Egg Bonus" unlockable.

Reward

The prize for getting all the eggs is a concept drawing of some enemies. The enemies it shows are:

  • Lagun: A pop-up turret that comes out of lava to shoot.
  • Rockbot: Initially disguised as a crumbling rock, when approached it turns into a flying Eggman head that chases after you.
  • Crawla Commander: This is an old version of the Crawla Commander. It stays on the ground and when you hit it once, it spins in circles, because one of its conveyor belts is broken.
  • Swatbot: Modeled after the minion robots seen in SatAM. No real description given.
  • Laser Cannon Bot: It fires lasers at you, and it can't be destroyed.
  • Ratbot: A tiny little thing that scurries across the ground, while shooting you with a big gun.
  • Minibrak: A small-scale, mass-production Brak-Eggman robot, that shoots lasers and takes three hits to defeat.
  • Bouncer: A robot that bounces around, while swinging his spikeball arms.

Egg locations

If you would like to collect these eggs, your computer's date must be set to any day of April. Then you can start hunting! It's often considered easiest to find the easter eggs with Knuckles, so this guide will be telling you how to get to the eggs by using Knuckles.

Greenflower Zone Act 1

Egg 1
At the start of the level, turn left and you'll see a cave. Go through it and you'll see two elevated sectors. Look behind the higher one to find the egg.

Egg 2
Walk to the breakable wall hiding the special stage token. Don't go in there yet. Turn left (over the water) and you will see a platform with a flower on it. Go behind the flower for the egg. Now go get the token.

Greenflower Zone Act 2

Egg 1
Go through the level as normal until you get to the row of spikes. Instead of jumping over them, turn right and climb the ledge. Turn right to see another ledge. Climb it. There's the egg.

Egg 2
Go through to the level until you get to the row of springs a little before the end. Instead of hitting them, jump over them and into the water. Go a little to the left to see a yellow spring. Jump on it to get out of the water. You should now see a kind of hill. Go to the top and jump to see a cave in the wall. Climb up to the cave and go through. You'll come at a dead end, but turn around and you'll see the egg, along with an extra life.

Techno Hill Zone Act 1

Egg 1
At the first fork of the level, turn left.

Egg 2
It's in the place where Sonic's emblem is. It's after the first checkpoint, when you go to a fork in the road, take a right, go in the hole, then go jump on the pipes, but have good timing though!

Techno Hill Zone Act 2

Egg 1
At the beginning of the level, choose the path with the turret. The egg's behind the box next to the button where you drain the water and shock the turret.

Egg 2
At the beginning of the level, search for an off color floor tile. Go on it, and you'll fall through it, and then bounce up into a secret room. Go through it to get to the conveyor belt. Go through it(The way it's carrying you), but keep a sharp eye on the left wall. When you see a hole in the wall go through it. You'll get a blue shield. Now get out of the secret room and go through the level as normal, but don't lose the shield! When you get to the room with all of the slime, immediately start gliding and make a U-turn into the cage. The egg's inside the cage. The egg would be easy to collect if you had Knuckles.

Castle Eggman Zone Act 1

Egg 1
Go through the level until you get to the lake with the token in it. Go past it and look at the left side of the wall as you continue through the level. You should see a hole. Drop through it. Go through the cave to find the egg.

Egg 2
Go through the level as normal until you get to the giant courtyard with the gate that leads to the end of the level. Go to the side opposite the one you entered and go up the ledge-type-thingy to find a red spring. Go on it and don't move. You'll see the location of a cave. Hit the red spring again, but this time, move and aim for the cave (spindashing may help beforehand). You'll find the egg in there.
