Length Limit

I was tempted to add a [citation needed] to the max. length thing. ;) I'm sure you've done your research, but what happens if you exceed the limit, exactly? I know some versions of (SRB2)DB have problems with long lines, but I haven't tested it in-game. --Oogaland 13:05, 19 December 2007 (PST)

My Caustic Fortress Zone that I was making (hopefully in time for the contest) has its gimmick of being a "drag race," so it was meant to be very linear. (I also made sure you had to move left and right a little). I may need to make multiple one-sided sectors and teleport in sequence (though that may make one lap a little long). When I exceeded the limit of 32768, my map ceased to function properly. For example, a Death Pit (attached to the acid FOF, which you would fall in if you fell off dry ground) now happened to tag itself to the dry ground as well, which is what Player 1 Start spawned on. Spawning from the ceiling made me spawn at the dry ground's floor height + the surface height of the acid FOF, not the actual dry ground's ceiling height (in this case, 2048). Removing the Death Pit effect from the acid FOF caused me to actually spawn inside dry ground. That particular effect caused visual glitches that are associated with being outside the level.

I figured the max length was 32768 because that is 215. Once I changed the thok barrier's and level barrier's length from 36000-37000 to about 30700, it started functioning properly again. –SonicMaster 13:35, 19 December 2007 (PST)

I was thinking it only affected Y, because Palmtree Panic actually has a linedef longer than 32768. However, this linedef happened to not be visible either, and it was completely horizontal. –SonicMaster 04:10, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Unpegging
