MAP55, Magma Caves Zone, is the sixth Special Stage in Sonic Robo Blast 2 v2.2. It is a NiGHTS level in which the player needs to collect 80 spheres and get to the goal in 150 seconds to get the Red Chaos Emerald. It is themed after the sixth zone, Red Volcano Zone.

Walkthrough

As with other NiGHTS special stages, you spawn inside of the Ideya Drone, turning into NiGHTS Super Sonic immediately.

Heading right sends you through a very small tunnel with Hoops that start your link, and afterwards you'll come across your first challenge. 3 consecutive concentrations of lava that spew out large drops of, also lava. The first and third ones will move upwards, and it can be very hard to react to their movements, so it's easier if you paraloop between each one as there's columns of Blue Spheres and Rings in-between that can be collected while giving you time to wait for the flying lava to pass you by.

Next is another small tunnel leading to another new obstacle, 4 extruding bits of lava that you have to zigzag through, although it's relatively easier than the previous section as long as you know it's coming.

Now there is yet again, another tunnel, filled with Hoops, but it's heavily advised to grab the Super Paraloop powerup hidden here, by continuing right until you reach a ring of Blue Spheres, you can paraloop them to reveal the powerup and collect it. Quickly going through the rest of the cave, you'll find a large bright pit full of spinning flamethrowers with a cage in the middle. Simply align yourself with the cage vertically and go right, no flamethrowers are there and doing so with the aforementioned powerup will collect almost, and if not all, of the Blue Spheres and Rings in the area, which is great for when you reach the approaching Ideya Capture.

That being, the next room, where there's a small ring of Blue Spheres and Rings you should collect and afterwards, go down. The lava floor of this room is waving about, and inside those waves are long lines of Blue Spheres and Hoops that without, you won't be able to break the Ideya Capture with halfway through the room. Just try to follow the movements of the waves and you'll be safe, remember that tapping spin can help slow you down a little bit. Now if you've collected all the Blue Spheres that you've stumbled across so far, you should have enough to finish the stage, if you don't though, there's a copy of this but just past the Ideya Capture , just remember that now that you've turned around it's going the opposite direction, and that you'll also have to go to the end of the room first to get all the Blue Spheres.

For this next section, it will send you into a Bumper, and whip you around a room full of thin and bright lava falls, which may cause epilepsy concerns or disorient you. This room isn't as scary as it looks though, all those lava falls are all part of the background, and you can't collide with them, nor are there any hazards aside from the very distant floor and ceiling. The Bumper that was collided with at the start of the room will send you into 2 more, if no directional input other than right is made between the first Bumper and the second set, then the player will pass right in-between them. If you do hit the Bumpers, you must hold right in order to avoid getting slammed into the floor or ceiling. If you take the upper one, you'll probably have to dodge the upcoming rock jutting out of the ceiling.

After that, in the same room you'll see a rock jutting out of the floor, fly around it, and then you'll probably hit the next Bumper or two, giving you more speed, but you have to hold down-right to avoid the third rock jutting from the lava, and then continue to fly around it. Follow the Hoops and you'll end up going straight into the final tunnel.

This tunnel though, has a final nasty trick of it's own, another Bumper is inside, but at the end of the tunnel, is a Bumper throwing you the wrong way. You may be running out of time right now, so you can either slow down and go around the Bumper like that, or make a tricky flight maneuver to avoid that. Either way though, this is the last thing the level will throw at you, and you've returned back to the Ideya Drone.
