X and Y length

This picture comes in handy for my rewrite of the SRB2DB tutorial, where I want to explain what those things mean. But there is a typo in the picture, you misspelled "length". If you could fix that, the picture would be a great help for the tutorial. --SpiritCrusherTalkContribs 16:00, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Done.--Ezer'Arch|עֶזֶר'AρχTalk 16:08, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

You make a very good point by explaining the difference between length and X/Y distances in linedefs, as I'm sure that's not clear to many at first. Having said that, I'd say it's also a good idea to explain that in certain linedef specials, when the length of a linedef has to match a specific value, it's best to draw the line parallel to one of the axis because the way the editor and the game make length approximations to diagonal lines may differ in some cases. Inuyasha said something regarding the matter here but I don't think this is explained elsewhere. If you want to add that piece of information to your page so one day a proper page can be created (or, to SpiritCrusher, if you want to add it to your tutorial), there you have it =) --Ricardo [Contribs] [Talk] 21:32, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I will explain that once I come to that part. --SpiritCrusherTalkContribs 08:20, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Front texture X/Y offset thing

Besides the "Linedef Distances" graph, I thought of doing something similar with "Front texture X/Y offset" too in Sidedefs article. I think it's not clear for the beginners where to set these texture offsets, specially when they read articles that teach you to use them (e.g. Linedef Type 428), and how they behave visually. Plus, these articles would receive a link pointing to Sidedefs article, so the reader will know what texture offsets are and how to set them. --Ezer'Arch|עֶזֶר'AρχTalk 17:06, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

This is something explained in the new tutorial as well, but of course an image for it would be nice. --SpiritCrusherTalkContribs 08:19, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
