Note about trivia sections
Hi VentureSonic, I'm glad you've been contributing to the SRB2 wiki! I noticed that you've been adding a few trivia sections to wiki pages, especially on zones. While it's great to add useful information to pages, I think most of what you've been adding would fit better under "Points of interest", or just as sections with separate titles instead of trivia (like the Greenflower Act 1 RedXVI secret for instance). The reason for this is because a lot of wikis (especially Wikia/FANDOM wikis) have trivia sections that end up being enormous unfocused bullet point lists, and I don't want the SRB2 wiki to turn into that. i understand that, many fan wikis have a tendency to have long and sprawling trivia sections, some of which that have irrelevant information. though i respect your position as admin, i have to disagree however. the trivia sections i added are small, and i'm sure that there are a few more bits of information that can be put into the trivia without bloating the trivia section out to an incomprehendable size. i also think the specialised title names just end up looking out of place, specifically with the "Skybox" and "Reference to Black Eggman" headers (the RedXVI one i can understand however). but since you're admin, the final decision falls upon you. --VentureSonic (talk) 19:38, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
- Late to respond (and also noting that you just made a page for the Black Rock today), but the SRB2 Wiki is actually intended as a wiki to contain useful information to do with playing or modifying SRB2, rather than about the story and the lore and such. It also provides information on the community and notable modificationss as well as the history of SRB2 itself. So tbh a page on the Black Rock (which is purely about the lore) seems to me to be a bit out of scope on our wiki if I'm being honest. Monster Iestyn Talk 16:41, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
that's fair. but i think that as long as it's not intrusive to the other pages on the wiki then it should be fine to keep, right? you're free to remove the page if you really think that it's irrelevant. --VentureSonic (talk) 19:10, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- I have to agree with Monster Iestyn here, I think it isn't necessary to have a wiki page on the Black Rock for the reasons he stated. Cookiefonster (talk) 19:29, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
