Sector type 240, BOSSX4 Effect Sector, is a sector type exclusive to XSRB2, which is controlled by the EGGrid. It will randomly be set by the EGGrid to trigger a linedef trigger with tag 1, spawn a monitor, damage the player when touched, or do nothing at all. A set of 7 sectors with tags between 999–1005 determine what floor textures the sectors with this effect will have for each of these effects. After a while, the EGGrid will reset the sectors with this special to do nothing, clearing away any remaining monitors on them.

Sector tag Effect
999 Sets the sector's floor texture;
Clears away any sector specials/monitors added
1000 Sets the sector's floor texture;
(The sector will use tag 1003 next)
1001 Sets the sector's floor texture;
Spawns any of the following monitors:

1002 Sets the sector's floor texture;
(The sector will use tag 1005 next)
1003 Sets the sector special to Trigger Linedef Executor (Floor Touch);
Calls linedef triggers with tag 1;
Sets the sector's floor texture
1004 Sets the sector's floor texture
1005 Sets the sector special to Damage (Electrical);
Sets the sector's floor texture
