Egg Rock Zone Act 3 is a name given to several different levels over the course of SRB2's history:
- In Version 2.0, Egg Rock Zone Act 3 was a boss fight against Brak Eggman.
- In Version 2.1, Egg Rock Zone Act 3 consisted of a race and subsequent boss fight against Metal Sonic. The fight against Brak Eggman was redesigned and renamed to Egg Rock Core Zone.
- In Version 2.2, the above levels were reorganized into the three-act Black Core Zone, where Black Core Zone Act 1 is the Metal Sonic race, Black Core Zone Act 2 is the Metal Sonic boss fight, and Black Core Zone Act 3 is the Brak Eggman boss fight. As a result, Egg Rock Zone currently has no third act.
