MAPBC, Gritty Columns Zone Act 1, is the first act of the fifth zone in Tortured Planet. The environment alternates between outdoor desert canyons, indoor caverns, and abandoned temple ruins.

Points of interest
Special Stage Token
In the underground chamber just after the very first room, there is a pillar at the far side of the quicksand bed. The token is just behind it.
Emblem locations
Sonic
Go to the room with the eight gargoyles sitting on a decorative structure. Push all eight of them off onto the ground, and a side path ahead of you will open up. You will find yourself in a room with a cactus floor. The emblem is on a small platform in the corner.
Tails
Tails's emblem is also found by going to the room with the gargoyle structure. Go to the very top of the structure, and then fly straight up to collect the emblem, which is in the sky far above.
Knuckles
At the entrance to the sandy palace at the very end of the level, climb the left side wall. The emblem is at the top.
