MAP04, Techno Hill Zone Act 1, usually referred to as THZ1, is the first act of Techno Hill Zone, the second zone in Sonic Robo Blast 2. Being the second zone, it is somewhat harder than Greenflower Zone. Since it has been completely contaminated by Eggman, this level features damaging slime instead of water, a factory, and new enemies - the Buzzes.

Walkthrough

From the starting point, move forward and use the spring. Afterwards, jump up the higher floor and over the slime, watch out for a Gold Buzz. Keep on going, turn right and you should see a bridge over a pool of slime, Red Crawlas, a Star Post, and two paths to go. Either continue forward and drop down or go right and make a left turn. After that, you should be running in a long corridor, with a Star Post and a Red Buzz. Next, you'll find a fork. Here you can go either left or right:

Right Path

If you took the right path, you should be running through some enemies, with a metallic hole to your right, some pipes over your head, and lastly an enormous pool of slime with a little metal island in the middle. Kill the Red Buzz you'll find there and jump onto the metal platform to your right from which you can jump to get to the metal island. Climb to the top and jump to the ledge in front of you. Go to the end of this area, facing the wall, turn left and jump up the platforms. After making it to a higher ground, turn right and get into the factory.

Left Path

After turning left in the fork, you'll find yourself in a little corridor ending with a higher ground. Wait for the platform to come down and take you upwards. Jump over the small river of slime, and make a choice: heading straight forward will lead you to the factory, spindashing into the hole will take you to an alternate route.

The little hole

Turn right, spin into the little hole, and follow the path until you reach some barrels floating on slime. You must carefully jump on them, and keep on going. You should end up in a sewer filled with slime. Jump from platform to platform, jump over the ventilators to gain height, and make it to the other side. Keep going, turn left, and you should find yourself in the finish room!

The factory

You should first kill every Buzz you find in this area, or this section can be very annoying. Head to the farthest wall, turn around, and you should see a yellow spring. Use it to get on the pipes. At the end of the pipe, you should see a gas jet; stay where it popped, and you'll fly high enough to progress. After doing this once more, use the diagonal springs and go through the path you landed on. Throw yourself into a hole in the ground, and go to the end of the corridor to finish the level.

Points of Interest

  • On the right part of the walkthrough, there is a metallic hole to the right. If you enter there, you'll find an Invincibility Monitor.
  • In the big pool of slime on the right path, jump across the barrels to obtain an Extra Life.
  • Before the factory, backtrack along the right path. You should see a red spring leading to a very high platform. If you spindash into that spring and head to the wall in front of you, you should be able to access a ledge containing a Whirlwind Shield.

Time Attack Tips

  • The underground passage with the slime and barrels is significantly faster than the factory route, so try to master going through it quickly.
  • When you reach the first Star Post, it's recommended that you have at least one ring and jump into the pool of slime. You'll be damaged, but make your way over to the spring in the corner; as using it will shoot you up into the air. While flying, try to navigate yourself to a large platform that contains a Super Sneakers Monitor. If you end up overshooting it, than at least you bypassed that entire section which should save you SOME time at least.
