MAP03, Greenflower Zone Act 3, abbreviated as GFZ3, is the third act of Greenflower Zone, the first zone in Sonic Robo Blast 2 v2.1. It consists of a boss fight against the Egg Mobile in a simple arena.

Walkthrough

There are three rings in each corner of the arena. Grab some, but never all of them, because with each hit the rings will fly further away from you, making them harder to re-collect. For the first five hits, Eggman will shoot at you with his laser. Before each shot, he will raise his hand and press a button. The laser initially shoots at the ground, but it slowly homes in towards you. Use the strafe keys to evade the laser without losing sight of Eggman. Jump at Eggman between shots to hit him. After each successful hit, he charges away from you.

After five hits, Eggman will stop using the laser and instead surround himself with spikeballs and charge towards you. After a while, he will throw the spikeballs in your direction and spawn new ones. Try to jump at him from below to avoid getting hit by the spikeballs. After three more hits, Eggman is defeated and an Egg Capsule will rise in the center of the stage. Step onto the yellow button to end the level.

Speedrunning

The key to beating this boss as fast as possible is to hit him so rapidly that he has no chance to attack. Try to get close to Eggman before you jump up to him. If you jump at him from afar, the rebound will propel you back across the arena, giving him enough time to charge his attack. If you keep jumping at Eggman from the same direction, you will eventually trap him in a corner where he cannot retreat, making it easier to hit him.
