Linedef type 418, Start Adjustable Blinking Light (Unsynchronized), is a type of linedef executor which, when triggered, starts a globally unsynchronized strobe flash effect in every tagged sector, in the same manner as linedef type 604.
The high and low light levels of the strobe flash effect are determined by the light levels in the control sector and the target sector. It doesn't matter which one is brighter. The control linedef's X distance determines the time for the light to be at the lower level, and the control linedef's Y distance determines the time for the light to be at the higher level. Both times are in tics.
If you use a two-sided linedef with the Not Climbable flag checked, the light level of the linedef's back sector will be used as the second light level, instead of the target sector, allowing you to set the latter at a different starting light level entirely.
- This example WAD can be played in any gametype. It uses
MAP01, replacing Greenflower Zone Act 1.
- The lights will begin blinking as soon as the level loads.
